Early American Literature Mini-Research Project

Directions:

1.    Using the theme and questions below, complete an online research study of your topic.  Be sure to use a variety of online sources such as video clips, documents, pictures, etc.  Complete the following worksheets:

 

·         Evaluating Online Sources Worksheet for each source

·         Summarizing a Source

 

2.     Provide a link to each online source in a post on your blog page.  Post links to at least four sites that appear to be useful for researching your topic.  Below each link, write an explanation (use your summarizing a source sheet from above) in which you describe the information on the site, who created it, and include how it may be useful.

 

3.    In a second post, answer each question below thoroughly.  Be sure to utilize the ACE strategy when answering each question: Answer the question with part of the question; Cite specific examples and details from your research; Explain in a sentence or two how those examples and details relate back to or support your answer.

 

4.    In a third post, summarize your overall findings about your topic. Post a paragraph in which you reflect on what you found in your search.  What were the most important facts you learned?  What was most surprising?  What questions do you still have?  How do you feel about your topic now?
